Celtic Art & Sculpture - Irish Artist Denis Lynch based in Cork Ireland |
I had the unique opportunity to be able to donate some money to two orphanages in Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand in July 2001. |
I visited the Chaing Mai Home for Boys & The Vienping Children's Home & found them well run & the children properly cared for. Like any orphanage , they are always in need of funds & extra staff & felt that the donation entrusted to me was wisely used. I was able to do this because of the altruism & generosity |
of a group of people who contributed to this fund through my brother in law, Gerard O'Mahony from Cork, Rep. of Ireland. The sum total I was able to bring over with me was £2000 punts, and this was divided equally between the two concerns. It is not often one can do this, and I was privileged to be able to do so, and hope to again in the near future. I have pledged that any work |
sold from this site will go directly to the needy, and preferably orphaned children of the Third World, with nothing taken for expenses (as I would be travelling anyway, usually for the purposes of trekking or mountaineering). To the people who have made the lives of some Thai orphans a little better, thank you. Thank you also for your trust in me. |
